Description of the product
We took over the family winery from our grandparents and now want to redesign the label of our wine. At the moment we are just producing wine in small batches but it is very important for us to focus on good quality and authentic wine production. We still produce the wine in an old winery, harvest the grapes by hand, yet include modern technology where appropriate.
Description of the product target audience
Our wine is suitable for all ages - we put value on the fact that our wine can be drunk every day by every age group. Target group is located in and around Austria.
We just need a front label for our wines - as we want to use the label for several years only a minimum of information should be on the front side of the bottle. Information included on the front label: - the name > Winter Weigl or the abbreviation WWW (for Winter Weigl Wine) - the name of the wine > Rivaner or Grüner Veltliner or Weinviertel DAC - the founding year of our family business > est. in 1896 What we like: modern clean lines but still a certain elegance, reduced graphics that should still have a certain sophistication, clear fonts that are easy to read.
What to avoid
We do not want a classic wine label where grapes, grape leaves, etc. are used. No fussy design, not too many colors mixed, no stock images, illegible fonts. We are a young team and this should be reflected in the label.

And then… they selected a winner!
the cooperation was really great, the designs were exactly as we imagined them - new designs were also delivered very quickly when changes were needed and the communication was straightforward.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
