We are a recently opened craft brewery located in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans. Our beer is carefully hand-crafted using the best ingredients, from water to malts to hops.
We take great pride in our city and our neighborhood and would like the packaging of our beer to reflect our connection to New Orleans.
We We are preparing to package, and sell in 6-packs of 12oz bottles, two of our beers. This contest is for our IPA (India Pale Ale). This contest will be for the bottle label. The label should be readily translated into industry-standard cardboard carrier for a 6-pack of bottles.
We made a conscious decision to not create a fanciful name for our IPA. Many consumers select beers based upon beer style (and IPA's are the most popular by far) and rather than rely upon a bartender to explain what our beer was, we simply decided to let the beer say it. That being the case, we still want a decidedly New Orleans feel to our beer label.
We have already had a logo designed and would like to incorporate our logo as part of the packaging. Beyond that we are open to suggestions, ideas and interpretations based upon the name Batture, and relevant local design elements.
Our IPA is 68 IBUs and 6.5% ABV. The bottles are 12 fl.oz. (355ml). The Federal government requires that we also use the words "India Pale Ale" in a predominant place on our label.
The bottle label will need to incorporate several elements as required by the U.S. Government. These requirements can be found on page two of this pdf: http://www.ttb.gov/pdf/brochures/p51903.pdf
