Food & Drink
We are a family winery located in Bordeaux, France. We were created in 1905 by my great grandfather. We sell wines in the middle-high end market and our goal is to make our Bordeaux wines easier to understand for end-customers, while keeping the brand of our long tradition and history. We have 5 wines (four reds and one white), all from Bordeaux. They are all part of the Ponty family. In this family we have two ranges: Renouil and Pavillon.
What's your vision?
We want to re-design our wines labels. The versions we currently have have a lot of problems (no branding, no consistency between the different labels of our range, unclear etc). We need a new label for each of our 5 wines, and a back label. The labels need to have some consistency between all of them. The back label can be a similar design for all wines. Each label needs to have our "Ponty" brand name clearly stated in a uniquely designed way (think Penfolds for Australian wines). The label style needs to reflect our French style and long tradition. It cannot be a modern style of label like Californian wines, as it would be confusing for the customer. It needs to show that the wines have been made in a very traditional way and that our winery has been around for more than 100 years. The shape of the label is left to you to choose, but rectangular shapes are less costly for printing. It needs to be easy for customers to understand that each wine is part of our brand, and to remember each wine. We recommend using the numbers provided as well as a color code in the attached excel document. We suggested a color code but you can decide on something else if you feel it is better. Finally, we currently do not have a logo for our winery. We have been re-designing a logo that we used on our labels in 1959 and we are suggesting to use this one, but you are also free to suggest something else if you feel it is better.
We have attached an Excel spreadsheet that has all the text required on the front and back labels. At first you can create only one back label so we agree on the design, and then we just need to change the text. Look at the labels requirements excel doc and read the wine descriptions to understand the difference between each wine. We have also attached a ppt that summarizes the information and has pictures of our existing labels and other label examples. Attached is a also our label from 1959. UPDATE: July 10: attached the Illustrator version of the 1959 logo
