The candle label design will be used on a Libbey 12 oz. Status Jar. The design should take the unique shape of the status jar into account. I have attached some photos of the jar and a prototype that I came up with. I will let you decide the size and placement of the label to accentuate the shape of the jar.
The design must utilize the words Waxadoodle Candle Co. and Austin Texas from the attached logo in the same fonts. It does not need the candle image from the attached logo. If it gets to crowded I am willing to drop Austin Texas from the label design. The Waxadoodle name does not need to be prominent on the label but it should be clear that it is a Waxadoodle candle.
The design will prominently have a doodle / illustration ( thus Waxadoodle ) as a focal point for the label. It should be a conversation piece or something that people remark about. That doesn't mean the colors should be loud and bright. A lot of people like candles that blend into their homes environment. The doodle should be generic enough that any scent / name of the candle could be used. My thinking is we can tweak primary color of the doodle to reflect the scent we use for each candle scent / name I create. I am drawing design inspiration from the craft beer community and have included numerous examples that would fall into the vision for the candle label. I don't mind if someone takes on a theme like a beach, or a forest, but that may force me to do a particular style of scent. That's ok if you strongly feel you need to go that direction to do something awesome.
The design will prominently display the name of the specific candle and should allow for any name or a custom / personalized name, e.g. Green Apple, Happy Birthday, or John Doe. If you need a name you can just call in "Scent Number 5" and use a font of your choice. See beforepersonalized.png / personalized.png
The design should strive to also have a place where we can reflect the fact that this candle is hand made. If possible, there should be a place on the label where the candle maker can write their initials or name and also the date when the candle was poured. I have included some examples of that. See the bottom on the label in beforepersonalized.png / handmade.png
The design should strive to also have a place to list the ingredients, recipe and burn time for that particular scent of candle.
