Presented numerous designs in the first round which all delivered the brief, but one in particular shone out. Ian answered all my questions and made numerous tweaks to deliver the perfect carton design.
How peacej started their product label journey
I like the different blocks of colour/sections on this label. I dont like the glossy finish or that you can see alot of the product.
nice colour...matt green with cream! a little too simplistic for me though.
I like the different sizes scripts and the logo. I dont like the clear label.
this one is totally great. Love the simple top part and the changing colour of the bottom. sophisticated and attractive. but also clear and striking.
great colour, different sized script and i like the bold mustard with script in the middle plus the mandala.
Nice simple and natural, but sophisticated too. I would need more colour on a design like this.
love the colours and patterns. too much colour to have as the whole label though.
great style and tapestry pattern. its too overwhealming to have on the whole label however.
logo placement in the label design.
logo placement in the label design.
Cakamura, here is all the label information, dimensions and colour specification. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
I need three main colours to have as my main three colours (one on each of three main products). For example, I sell "Vata, Pitta, and Kapha" remedies....each one needs its own label colour......but then i have a few products under the vata category, pitta category and kapha category, so will use the same colour theme for each for a bunch of remedies. I am only asking for one design colour at this time until a design is officially chosen......just giving a heads up about the colours for the final set of labels.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Spa & Esthetics
Somaya Ayurveda includes ten to fifteen different products/remedies. all with same label theme except colour, script, and size changes.
Description of the product
I am an Ayurvedic Practitioner and make traditional ayurvedic herbal remedies. These range from small viles for perfumes to larger "apothecary" type bottles of herbal massage oils and sprays. I would love labeling that is beautiful, concise, and has a bit of Vintage India in the design (as Ayurvedic medicine originates from india).
Description of the product target audience
People interested in natural medicine, people who like eclectic high- end spa products, and those interested in eastern spirituality, yoga and arts. Target audience is those with money and style who are also interested in natural medicine. All ages (except children).
I would like a rectangle label for my products, this will need to look good in different sizes as I have many different size and shaped bottles for my products. I will attach a photo below of the types of bottles I am using. Also, after the general concept is designed I would need to change the main body colour/highlight colour of the label for each product, as It is important for the colour to identify each separate product. I would love my logo ( the white one included in the Zip files I attached of my old label designs ) to sit in a gold mandala (I've included some stock photo examples). I would also love a gold border on the top or bottom of the label to match with the gold mandala/logo. I have also include some stock photo "tapestry" examples as it would be cool to have half the label as a tapestry and the other half as cream/basic colour where the main script is on. The gold mandala/logo could sit in the centre line of these two halves of the labels to bridge them together. When i print the labels i hope to get the printer to do the small gold mandala and the gold border at the top in gold embossing .I'm open to other ideas to allow these two parts of the label to stand out if gold embossing seems like it wont work with the rest of the label. Here is an example of the script for one of the labels:
Balancing Herbal Massage Oil
Open to all font ideas, but would like the script to be easily readable and apothecary/vintage like.
And the two wide ends of the labels (which will end up wrapping around to be on the back of the bottle) will have small scripts with usage, ingredients, contraindications etc.
I have also uploaded some very basic sketched designs that ive been playing with and an image of my old product labeling for the vata oil.
What to avoid
Avoid bluish purple.
One of the labels is approximately 3 1/2 (tall) by 6 (wide) inches. The one or two of the width ends needs to be available for the tiny script of ingredients/contraindications etc. I can provide full dimension/script information when a design is selected.
love this one.
one of these tapestry examples could be the bottom third/or half of the label. Then the colour of the tapestry could be what changes to indicate a specific product. (I need a bunch of different colour options once a base design is chosen.
Would be great as a border on the top or bottom edge of the label.
Or my logo could go inside somthing like this as part of the label?
