Hunnington Single Malt Whisky
Description of the product
We currently make and sell gin, sloe gin, navy strength gin and two types of vodka. Whisky will be a new product line for us - branded with the "Hunnington" name rather than the "Deadman's Point name" that we currently use. Our whisky is handmade, is a triple distilled single malt whisky made in small batches. The whisky is made from pure rainwater and Tasmanian barley. It is casked in sherry barrels.
Description of the product target audience
Anyone who likes excellent whisky!
Please note - it is not possible for us to have the label directly printed on to the bottle (Our starting volumes are too small to make this viable) or to use transparent stock for the label (it is almost impossible to apply transparent labels without getting fingerprints on them) A label for our single malt whisky. There will need to be two labels or two parts to the label: first the branding and general information, second the (handwritten) details, such as type of cask, alcohol strength, origin of cask used, size of cask, number of bottles produced, batch number etc. The second label should have space to handwrite the information listed (every cask will be different) type of cask (eg Sherry), alcoholic strength (eg 45%), origin of the cask used (eg Spain) cask size (eg 26 litres), number of bottles produced (eg 60), Date Barrelled (eg 2/1/2018) Date Bottled (eg 1/2/2020) The front label just needs the bottle volume (500ml) as well as the distillery name - Hunnington, The whisky type - "Tasmanian, Triple Distilled, Single Malt", it could also have "handcrafted" etc.. What I would like is a label that exhibits some creativity and reflects our business (see website) - not just our logo and a fancy font of our name - I don't need a designer to produce that.
What to avoid
This is a premium product - the label will need to reflect the quality of the product as well as the nature of the market. We have decide to differentiate our white spirits brand (Deadman's Point) from our whisky brand "Hunnington" - but would be interested to see some reflection in the whisky branding of the Deadman's Point branding - remember, that they serve two different markets and are at two quite different price points)
We have provide the bottle specifications. The closure for the bottles will be a vinolock glass stopper with a turned Huon Pine cap covering the top of the glass stopper so that the wood is in line with the flange at the top of the bottle.

Fantastic job by Renata. She followed instructions and added her creative detail to the design. She encompassed what we needed for this specialised line of products.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
