How Charlie Wells started their product label journey
Bold, stand-out on shelf to the customer
Clear, understandable, health benefits/ingredients promoted front of pack
Edgy, eye-catching design. Very stylish and bold. Understated shout out of health benefits
Colour matching with product is good, and furthers their "natural" image
Different every time yet still recognisable.
Don't like the dated style, use of leaves looks natural but also slightly false.
Great design, really eye-catching and separates it well from competitors.
Quite like this, but doesn't quite stand out on shelf enough and when you look at the back text is v.small and unengaging
Really like the use of a cow to show % of calcium per serving, an almond for example could work well in a similar vein.

Almond Breeze looks really dated, showing of the 'coffee' doesn't help to make it look real or natural. Not good at all.

Please do feel free to experiment with colours. The design needs to be edgy & eye-catching and so please use some artistic licence! I am open to designs that use a clear background so that you can see the product, and ones that use background colours to block out the colour of the smoothie (please remember that if you do this that there will still be some smoothie visible and it is important that it doesn't clash with the brown colour of the cacao)

#DrinksDoneDifferently - Our Raw Protein Smoothie is made with Cold-Pressed Almond Milk & blended with other wholefood ingredients including Peruvian Cacao. We are setting out to create change in the healthy drinks market through 3 founding principles;

- Nutritious Ingredients
- Incredible, Indulgent Taste
It is important that this label can be easily replicated across different flavours in the future such as; blueberry, vanilla, raspberry etc. Please bear this in mind in relation to colours used.
Please note that we are not aiming for the Sports Nutrition market, but instead at the healthy drinks market including Innocent, Upbeat, etc.

Primary Target Consumer:
21-35, active and healthy lifestyle, aspirational, time-pressed, highly sociable, city based
Wants to eat/drink healthily to support aspirational image – they’re not cutting things out but going for a healthier option
46% do weekly supermarket shop & over ½ use convenience shops. Buy Food-to-Go 2/3 times per week, with 24% of Londoners purchasing daily.
Exercise 3+ times per week – part of the Tough Mudder, Yoga & Pilates generation
If they like it, they’ll share it & want to be seen with it – e.g; Starbucks Coffee
Secondary Target Consumer:
18-21 & 35-45 – health conscious, reads labels, researches nutrition/exercise - looking for healthy alternatives
Early adopter who is willing to experiment and will show brand loyalty once they are satisfied
Label for Cacao Raw Protein Smoothie - This product is a premium end offering, that uses the best ingredients & processing techniques. The branding/label design therefore needs to match this without being too "natural", and still holding an aspirational, cool, & edgy style. For more information please refer to Label Brief document. What to avoid
Stock imagery, and styles that would make the product look too niche/hippy/overtly natural/vegan - remember the product wants to lead with "Raw" and therefore be edgy, cool, & aspirational - but please do use as much creative freedom as possible.
100mm x 160mm (height x width)- this could be split into 3 vertical panels of an equal size at roughly 100mm x 50mm – leaving roughly 10mm spare at the sides
