Food & Drink
Cocktail Crate makes gourmet cocktail mixers by hand in Queens, NY. The mixers are primarily organic, and Cocktail Crate aims to become synonymous with the fun times that come from sharing a great drink with great company. Please check out my successful Kickstarter campaign to get a better sense about what Cocktail Crate is all about. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects…-in-queens
What's your vision?
I need the Primary Display Panel (PDP) and information panel designed for my first 3 mixer flavors. This will also involve a small tweak to an earlier version of my logo that was used in the Kickstarter campaign. For the first, pre guaranteed phase of the contest, you can submit just PDP designs. Each of the 3 PDPs will contain Cocktail Crate's logo with the modification that the stars are replaced with the silhouette of a coup cocktail glass. (I have uploaded both a PDF and AI file of the original logo and an image of a coup cocktail glass just to make sure we are on the same page. The coup glass silhouette should also be in stencil format, which I think can be easily accomplished with a thin vertical line down its middle.) Please take the files as a guide, I'm sure a good designer could improve upon the logo in simple ways and the colors will almost certainly have to be changed. About the PDPs: the mixers will be available in clear 750ml glass bottles, so I am thinking the labels should be approximately 3 inch by 4.5 inch squares, although I'm for sure open to a circular (or just rounded) labels that take up a similar amount of space. A picture of one of the bottles filled with a mixer is attached. The information that has to be included on each PDP: The logo, the size of the bottle (750ml, 25.4 FL oz, close to the bottom of the label), and the product description. For example, the Ginger Bee mixer description will read "Ginger Bee" "Honey, Ginger, and Clove Cocktail Mixer". I am also interested in having some clean and elegant artwork that is unique to each mixer. The artwork could be an illustration of the actual ingredients, or of something that relates to them. For the Ginger Bee, just as an example, that could be a drawing of ginger roots, honeycombs, and clove branches, or simply a bee. The three PDPs should be laid out similarly, with the only difference being in the text and the image. Cocktail Crate mixers are a premium product and I want the labels to have a premium feel. At the same time, they are a handcrafted artisanal product which I want to also come across in the labels. For example, I choose the Stencil font in the logo to evoke the handcrafted nature of the mixers. The other font I heavily favor is century. I also plan to have them printed on the same kind of heavy paper that the labels of dogfish head brewery uses on its labels. Some artisanal products go for an old-timey look that is very busy - that's not what I'm going for. Also, the caps on the bottles will be white, so the color scheme should be chosen with this in mind, I'm thinking this will involve a white or off-white background color to the labels. The lables that the company Genki Su has are similar to what I am looking for for Cocktail Crate. A link to them is below. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects The product descriptions for each of the three mixers that will appear on the PDP labels and influence the artwork are as follows: "Ginger Bee" "Honey, Ginger, and Clove Cocktail Mixer" "Holiday Old Fashioned" "Cinnamon, Orange Peel, and Allspice Cocktail Mixer" "Smoky Hop" "Cascade Hop and Lapsang Souchong Tea Cocktail Mixer" The information panels should contain the following information: Information Panel: Ginger Bee Cocktail Crate’s mission is to craft mixers that make serving delicious cocktails simple and fun.
