We would like a label designed for the "spicy" version of Oliva Mediterranean Ketchup. (We will work with the winning designer one-on-one to extend the label to the non-spicy version of Oliva).
Brand Name: "Oliva"
Tag Line: "Mediterranean Ketchup"
The inspiration for Oliva is the classic Spanish dish of patatas bravas, which is commonly served with salsa brava (a spicy sauce). For more information on patatas bravas and salsa brava, click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patatas_bravas The founders of Oliva were inspired by a trip they took to Barcelona, Spain, where they spent many hours strolling the streets and enjoying many different variants of patatas bravas at cafes throughout the city (the best can be found at "Bar Tomas" in the neighborhood of Sarria). Barcelona is a city of contrasts (old and new, modern and gothic, ocean and mountains). So too, Oliva is a condiment with tremendous contrast (spicy yet delicate). What makes "Oliva" different:
The condiment that is most similar to Oliva is American ketchup, which is made from tomato concentrate, vinegar, high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, salt, spice, onion, and natural flavoring. While the typical ketchup sold in most grocery stores delivers a classic taste, it is also very unhealthy and very boring. The goal of Oliva is to provide a great tasting, heart-healthy, Mediterranean-diet alternative to American ketchup in the form of an "olive oil ketchup" with little sugar added. For more information on the Mediterranean diet, see http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/me…et/CL00011.
Themes we like:
- old world, Spanish, Mediterranean themes
- classic, elegant designs
Themes we don't like:
- cartoonish designs
- overly modern designs
We are exploring two container options. One is a classic glass condiment bottle. The other is a plastic (squeezable) condiment bottle.
We are open to any shape/size of label, so be creative. The front of the bottle should have the main label. The back of the bottle should have room for "our story", as well as ingredients and nutritional information
