I absolutely loved working with CLCreative. The designer got the concept immediately and went on to tweak the design until it was perfect. She was communicative, receptive, creative, and helpful. I absolutely plan to work with CLCreative in the future.
- Alberto Matsumura
Alberto got the design 95% there on the first attempt. It was great work and we are very happy with it.

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
On The Fly is a pre-mixed canned product that incorporates genuine Absinthe with citrus and carbonation to provide the consumer with a low-calorie, refreshing cocktail. Until 2007, Absinthe was illegal in the United States. Since it was re-introduced in the United States, consumers and mixologists have been slow to embrace this delicious spirit. On The Fly was developed to make drinking Absinthe enjoyable. On The Fly will be available at retail stores where alcohol purchases are permitted. For more information on Absinthe please visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absinthe
What Makes On The Fly Unqiue:
Currently, many high profile brands like Jack Daniels, Smirnoff, Four Loco and Barcardi have pre-mixed canned cocktails available on store shelves. Over the course of the past two years, these brands have thrived and infiltrated the market. Additionally, the government has regulated the mixing of caffeine and alcohol. On The Fly distinguishes itself as the first Absinthe pre-mixed cocktail. Unlike whiskey, vodka and rum which are depressants, Absinthe is a natural herbal stimulant. Absinthe is not only a stimulant, but it is also known for being an aphrodisiac. Historically, Absinthe was banned due to its hallucinogenic qualities found in the compound Thujone. Our Absinthe cocktail has 100% all the ingredients of the original absinthe made in 1792, including the compound Thujone. The amount of Thujone in our Absinthe is diluted down to the US legal limit; however, we can still say On The Fly is the real deal. Given Absinthe’s unique qualities, On The Fly distinguishes itself among the saturated pre-mixed alcohol offerings.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need a label design for our bottle. We will be using a brushed aluminum bottle - please see the attached pictures of the Coors Light cans for a sample of the type of bottle we are using. We need a label/logo to be painted on the bottle. The size of the label should be approximately 4"x4". We have also attached some images we like (labeled "good") and some images we don't like (labeled "bad").
Design Themes and Concepts We Like:
+ Absinthe has a rich and deep history. We would like the label to be vintage hip embodying a bit of history in design choice, while still appealing to younger generations
+ Color schemes: Varity of greens, gold, vibrant and deep blues.
+ Absinthe has an allure of illicitness and mystery – we want the label to be mysterious, but also, clear that this is an exciting cocktail
+ Fairies, but not cutesy fairies
+ Images that provoke the spirit of 1920s prohibition-era drinks or the "roaring 20s"
+ Elegance, and not overly busy
+ Could place the word "Absinthe" on the bottle somewhere?
Design Themes and Concepts We Don’t Like:
- Cute little fairies that are green and look like every other generic Absinthe Brand on the market
- Anything that looks like a demon
- Neon Green
- No Black on Neon green please! (if you do a Google Image search for "absinthe" you will se what we DON'T like)
- Extremely Ornate designs
- Tacky & boring
