Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Who are we?
We are The Oxford Health Company, we specialise in the manufacture and sales of health supplements. We sell a wide range of products including, vitamins, minerals, combination products, herbs, botanicals and powders. We are well known as a “cheap” brand, only cheap by price, as this is not reflected in the quality. We manufacture all our tablets on site in Bicester, Oxfordshire. We buy high quality ingredients to ensure we produce effective tablets made by highly skilled staff.
Originally we started by putting our product in ‘letter-box friendly’ packets. Which are plain white opaque packets (picture included) but we have decided to develop our brand further by placing some of our biggest selling products in glass bottles. This is all part of the plan to further evolve our brand and offer more option to the customer.
The bottles are 300ml amber pharmapac bottles. Typically amber glass has been used to store tablets for years as they are the best coloured glass to prevent oxidation or light damage to sensitive vitamins (picture included).
Who is our Target market?
We have a very wide client base including both genders from young to old. Typically, our best selling tablets are targeted towards the older age bracket as they are associated with Bone and Joint Health (Approximately ages 45+ years). However, we would like our packaging to appeal to all ages and offensive to none.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Why have we chosen to use 99 designs?
We had one label designed (picture included) and once placed on the bottle we weren’t happy with the look. We have a list of criteria for the label, it must be/have:
-7cm in height and 20.5cm in length
-Include our OV logo. The square with ‘OV’.
-Be Black and White ONLY.
-Be a minimum of 3 aspect views. We have tried labels with 2 aspects and it doesn’t look or read well. So 3+ aspects/blocks of text.
-It must look clean and ‘non-fussy’, we don’t want fancy patterns, picture or fonts, it’s a health brand.
-Include our tagline ‘Your Health is Our Science’
-Include the same content that is on the bottle ie. the name, strength, number of tablets, nutritional and legal information etc.
That being said we were not happy with the design that is included in the pictures, so do not be afraid to attempt something really different to the other label, it may be just what we are looking for.
