We see the major selling point of this product to be the cultural significance as the unofficial liquor of the voodoo culture here in West Africa, as well as it's tropical, mysterious, and exotic connotations. At the same time, we're trying to avoid making this drink overly-kitschy or a novelty beverage. We also think the style/class of French colonialism could be cool since it'll be transitioned into a premium product for export to US and Europe.
Tambour Original is the trademark (tambour is french for "drum") but this doesn't necessarily need to be incorporated in the design if it feels forced. We're more thinking palm trees, lagoons, rainforests, African designs, etc. and are open to whatever other imagery is conjured up by that. We were also thinking a darker bottle might help with the mysterious imagery, but aren't convinced.
We have a crowdfunding campaign going if you want to see more about what we're all about: http://www.indiegogo.com/sodabe
We are really open with the possible designs, and as passionate about this project as we are, we are unfortunately not the creative types, so we're really excited to see what you come up with!
