Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
"Great beer helping great people" is our motto. We brew high-end, high-quality craft beer and give back 10% of the profits of each and every beer to different charities.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need a label for our 2nd beer. Our first was successfully designed here, so looking forward to working with the designers again. It will go on a 750ml "champagne" style bottle. There will be an image on front and descriptive text on the sides. Shouldn't be as hard this time because I'm going to post an image I love. I just want to see it reworked to be either (a) cleaned up in the background, or even better (b) modernized. Things to remember:
1) The hero of this beer is St. Athanasius, the greatest man of his time (about 300 AD). He was the Bishop of Alexandria and was responsible for all kinds of important philosophy in todays society.
2) I don't want the beer to be called St As, so I picked a really cool sounding object that is associated with him: The Shield of the Trinity. Its possible that just the shield would look cool, but I think using the really old artwork with the knight holding the shield (attached) is so good it could just be used without help from a designer. Otherwise, just Google "Shield of the Trinity" and you'll see some old artwork you can use as a starting point. Looking forward to seeing how you guys improve it!
3) Its going to be an "Imperial Hefeweizen", known in German as "Weizenbock". It will be powerful, with an ABV of about 9%.
Here's the text for the label:
"Karetas is derived from Latin, meaning charity and compassion. Karetas Brewing was founded to give back by making great beer. 10% of profit from each beer is donated to a different charitable mission, including Veterans, Homelessness, Hunger, Education, First Responders, Children, and more. Our beer styles are ones we love and the associated charities are ones we feel great about helping. We hope you agree with our mission, and we hope you love our beer.
Shield of the Trinity is named after Athanasius, the great Bishop of Alexandria. In honor of St. Athanasius, the charity focus of this beer is Hunger. In the US alone, 1 in 6 people face food insecurity. A portion of profit from this great Imperial Hefeweizen will be donated to help feed the hungry both in the US and around the world.
