We are looking for an eye grabbing label design that will be desirable and elegant (this will retail at ~ £3/ 250ml bottle). We want to communicate to the buyer health and vitality and also emphasise the fact that we use all natural ingredients. For this reason we would like the designer to include illustrations representing the ingredients used (please avoid photos/ images of ingredients. We love the artisan look and feel common to many boutique gin bottles).
Descriptor adjectives: Elegant, refined, special, indulgence, healthy, wholesome, investing in me, good for me, I’m ‘being good’, virtuous, innocence femininity, socially conscious.
Colours that fit with our target market (designers are not limited to these, just ideas):
Black: associated with business, luxury, sophistication, status, drama, glamour, security, efficiency and quality.
White: cleanliness, hygiene, transparency, efficiency, sophistication, clarity, style and simplicity.
Green: growth, good for me, wholesome
Blue: calm, dependable
Silver/ Lilac/ Rose: Creative, sophisticated, elegant
The bottle (http://www.frenchflint.com/Bottles-…ottle.aspx) is clear with the kombucha being bright in colour (ruby red) - see picture. I attach a picture of a similar (note not identical) bottle which contains the ginger and hibiscus kombucha. It is important that the label design correlates with this colour.
We want to imitate the look and feel of a wine bottle (hence the bottle shape choice), but not to the extent that it could be mistaken for wine! Generally speaking we would prefer an off white background to the label design. Although the logo is generally in black bold, we would be open to the designer deviating from this if it contributes to the overall design.
We like the idea of having the HOLOS Logo protuding beyond the rectangular label perimeter, please see Bacardi and Shortcross Gin for examples of this (please ignore general label style of these examples however). Please create designs with this feature in mind if it fits with your concept.
