We are looking to change our labels.
We currently have a tigersnake on our label as the name of our winery means "place of the tiger snake" but we have found through approaching the wholesale market that our label is not appealing and is in fact very off putting (i have attached a copy of our current label for your information). We have reserched the tiger snakes importance in aboriginal culture and roughly translated represents life. We are open to the idea of a stylised version of our current label or we are considering a whole new label design incorporating the family history link with Max Wellstead, as described below.
As we are a small coastal town we need to now look into the retail market and with the feedback for the current label being negative we have decided to change our label and we are looking to create a simple attractive and unique label that is eye catching and will improve our sales through the retail market and build our reputation to become a recognised winery in the great southern region.
The Winery is owned by a gentleman with a lot of family history in the town and he also owns the museum here, the wellstead museum. He would like to start a series of labels with old buildings from the original homestead built by his family. And he would like these new labels to have an image of either a building or historic artifact that is currently housed at his museum.
The label he is looking for is something that stands out and is eye catching with a visual image instead of a picture. With these images you are free to tweek, and play around as much as you see fit to make this label appealing.
He would like to create a link between his family, the Wellsteads of Bremer Bay and the Winery, Gnornbup Wines.
Max feels that by doing a label design like this, the interest would grow and encourage people to look into Bremer Bay and learn the story of how the town was founded, with the aim of trying to encourage visitors Australia wide to visit this spectacular place.
attached are various images from the homestead, the area, and a artist sketch of one of the buildings. The design needs to be bright and fresh incorporating simple lines with vibrant colour. The design needs to be simple to facilitate ease of production. It will need to stand out but have refinement associated with historical reference.
Feel free to experiment with format ie whether it be a wrap around label, panorama or portrait. Images provided are only a guide and should additional images be required we can forward these on.
