Rocky Pond Winery
Description of the product
Background – We are a small family owned winery in Washington State – Rocky Pond. We are looking at creating a new brand that will be a single item Cabernet which will be crafted from our incredible vineyard that slopes gently down to the foot of the Columbia River. We want the image and style of this new brand to be very different from our current brand.
Description of the product target audience
The consumer of this wine is likely to be college educated, urban professional between 29-59. It will likely be 60% men 40% women. It will be a consumer that is familiar with the wine industry and is looking for a wine that visually appeals to them and looks expensive.
Story - Several thousand years ago as the ice age retreated it created a massive lake in Montana (Lake Missoula). As time went on the ice dam broke and massive floods poured from the lake crashing through the Columbia River basic and out to the Pacific. Scientists say these floods were more powerful that all the rivers of the world combined. The water that poured down the valley was 400 feet high and traveling 60 mph. The floods carved out everything in its path and was powerful enough to carry 200-ton boulders from Montana 200 miles downriver. These giant boulders can now be found in and around our vineyards. Something much smaller but more important that the floods brought was incredible nutrient rich silt which is why our Washington State vineyards can produce such great wines. Scientists believe there were 40 of these floods before the ice retreated up north, they are known as the Missoula Floods.
Imagery - We are open to any and all styles. We could see graphic images that reflect the flood, grapes and vineyards ot it could simply be driven by iconography around the name. The label should be upscale and reflect a $20 bottle of wine. We are open to things like embossing, foils and diecuts.
On the label the brand name need to be prominent with secondary components being – ‘by Rocky Pond’, ‘Cabernet’, ‘2018’ & ‘Columbia Valley, WA’
The label will go on a Bordeaux wine bottle. The same bottle you would generally see cabernet wines in.
