We would like you to create a label for wine bottles for our Fairtrade towns. We are looking forward to receive plenty of creative designs to choose from :-)
Below you will find all information needed about Fairtrade and the Fairtrade Mark, Fairtrade Towns and the wine and of course the design instruction.
Fairtrade is an alternative approach to conventional trade and is based on a partnership between producers and consumers. Fairtrade offers producers a better deal and improved terms of trade. This allows them the opportunity to improve their lives and plan for their future. Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their every day shopping.
The Fairtrade Mark
The FAIRTRADE Mark is the globally recognized symbol of the international Fairtrade system. When you buy products with the FAIRTRADE Mark, you support disadvantaged farmers and workers in the global south as they improve their lives and their communities. Products bearing this Mark meet the internationally-agreed social, environmental and economic Fairtrade Standards. The FAIRTRADE Mark is a registered trademark owned and licensed by Fairtrade International.
What are Fairtrade-Towns?
The Fairtrade-Towns campaign is internationally known; today there are over 320 Fairtrade Towns in Germany. They support fair trade on a local level and are a unique way to connect the civil society, politics and economy. Nowadays people are more aware of social and sustainable standards in production and the countries where the products are coming from. On a local level becoming a Fairtrade town is a commitment to support Fairtrade and use licensed products with the FAIRTRADE Mark.
About the wine-growing estate Vinecol:
Vinecol is located in the south of Mendoza. With its hot and dry climate and sparse vegetation there is almost nothing but wine and goats. This is how the owner of Vinecol, Pablo Dessel, describes the area.
The wine is organically grown and produced in ‘Valle Central’ in Mendoza. The vineyard sits at the bottom of the Andes and right next to the nature reserve ‘Nacunan’.
Fresh air, intensive sun, inspiration and hard work form the character of these expressive wines, which in the end are a result of the perfect interaction of man and nature.
