ofv got their new product label by running a design contest:
Design a new wine label for our new California red wine...

Food & Drink
We are a California winery that produces small lot, premium award winning wines.
What's your vision?
New label for our red wine which is called "Petit Verdot". For those that may not know. Petit Verdot is a type of grape, in the same way that "Cabernet Sauvignon" or "Zinfandel" is a type of grape. As for style, we were thinking something that was based on typography. Thinking possibly of a black background with some either copper colored text, or gold (not flashy shiny), or maybe cream colored. Thinking something that looks almost like it started as a sketch, or like it was an old time label from the early 1900's, if that makes sense. This needs to fit on a standard 750 ml bottle. We need both a front and back label. The label can be either a paper label, or screen printed design. The front needs to prominently say: "Petit Verdot" and we will let your imagination and creativity run with what you want the design to look like. Less prominently it needs to say: "2014" with "Lodi, California" either underneath that or to the side. We'd like to have the "OF" from the Oak Farm Vineyards logo on the front label. It doesn't have to be super prominent. With the back label, we need the Oak Farm Vineyards logo (not the one with the tree) on it as well as the government warning, contains sulfites, and 15% alc by vol. 750ML and a standard UPC barcode. Maybe some room for a quick few sentences about the wine if that works into the back label design. If not, no worries. One more thing... If you want to do something entirely different than the style mentioned in the description, that's totally fine! We don't have a set design in mind. Main thing we want to avoid are things that have been overdone, like grapes and barrels, etc. Dimensions, width isn't a huge concern, but height is... Probably up to 5.5 inches in height would work, anymore more than that gets cumbersome on a paper label. This wine will retail for $30 a bottle
I've attached some examples of our current labels to give you an idea of what we currently have to try to give you an idea of what our style is. The Vapor Trail and the Corset were both winners from our previous 99 Designs contests. If you want to do a bottle rendering in Photoshop, please use a bottle with a black foil capsule on top as that is the only color capsule we use. Esteban did a great job! He brought our vision to life, and we are very happy with how the designs turned out! He is quick to respond, communicates well, and is easy to work with. Would definitely recommend!
