DanielaG got their new product label by running a design contest:
Design a product label for a new whole grain foods company

Food & Drink
We are a start-up company producing foods (pasta, crackers) from ancient/ heirloom variety grains, starting with wheat. All grains are organically grown by small farmers, and milled 100% whole so none of the vitamins, minerals, and fiber are removed, making it more nutritious and easier to digest than common wheat products. We want to educate people that grains are not bad, if you eat food that's been grown and processed the right way. Our target audience is sophisticated consumers – often “foodies” and health conscious consumers - interested in the health benefits of whole grains and looking to avoid health issues caused by mass produced and refined grain products.
What's your vision?
We need a label for the front of the package and a label for the pack of the package, which will be a brown bag with a clear window (see image below). The front label is roughly 5 1/4" wide x 4 1/8" tall and the back label is roughly 5 3/4" wide x 8 1/4" tall (see attached dies). Please read attached "Packaging with Dummy Text-Label Guidelines" document that describes label sizes on Page 3. Front label: This will include our Truly Grains logo. We'd like the logo to be large enough so that the tagline 'Making Grains Good Again' can be easily read. We also want these attributes displayed: Organically grown, Non GMO, ancient variety grains, milled 100% WHOLE. Fusilli Pasta/Sonora Wheat. Back label: The back label includes a nutrition label (please use the attached sample labels as a placeholder), ingredient list, and text on what makes Truly Grains so Truly great. We would also like an original image of a wheat berry showing the bran, endosperm and germ (definitions not necessary). Lastly, we will need a UPC code placeholder, which we will ultimately remove and replace with our actual UPC code. We are looking for a design that is bright, bold and clean; and one that highlights our logo. We provided the text for the front and back labels, but the layout is up to you. We will provide the real text to replace the dummy text on the back label once we have selected a winning label design.
Please see attached- -Document which includes packaging text and labeling guidelines. You do NOT have to follow the layout we used. -Sample nutrition statement to be used as a placeholder. -Pictures of bag that label will be on, and a bag from another company showing how labels look, picture of pasta aisle to see the competition! -Logo in various formats
