McRuff's Handcrafted Dog Biscuits
Description of the product
McRuff’s Handcrafted Dog Biscuits are made with extraordinary care. We start with traditional, slow-cooked bone broth rich in gelatin and nutrients. Then we add healthful, dog-friendly specialty ingredients. Our website will dedicate a lot of real estate toward promoting the ingredients, their individual benefits, and their sources. “Bone Broth” is an unusual but extremely healthy ingredient and is our competitive advantage. For this contest, we are looking for a product label for our Bone Broth & Greens flavour. We will be selling these biscuits both online and at Farmer’s Markets.
Description of the product target audience
Our customers care greatly what they feed themselves and their family. They are part of the ‘real food movement’. Perhaps they eat a paleo, vegetarian or 100-mile diet. They buy organic, shop at the farmer’s market, and they always read labels. They probably feed their dog raw or home cooked meals instead of kibble. Their dog is their best friend and they treat him like one of the family.
The Look and Feel The label should give an instant impression of authenticity: natural colours, ‘crafted’ designs, old-school or vintage fonts. The product needs to blend in but also stand out at the Farmer’s Market. “What it is” should be visible to the naked eye from 6 feet away. Please try to include an illustration or sketch of a dog, labrador preferred. This sketch should be an outline or solid graphic, not a cartoon. The labels will be placed on the front of a clear stand-up pouch. The labels are 4”H x 3-1/3”W. Please leave a ¼” trim area as these will be printed on a home printer for the foreseeable future. What to avoid
Avoid primary or bright colours. Avoid child-like graphics. Avoid large solid blocks of colour as these are to be printed on a home printer for the foreseeable future.
