nic5I got their new product label by running a design contest:

Food & Drink
Well Crafted Beer Company
Description of the product
Hop Monger is our most popular IPA and is made with 4 different types of hops. The color is a pale yellow with white foam. It tastes like a blend of pine sap and citrus with notes of peach ring candy, meyer lemon, and mango.
Description of the product target audience
Men and women, aged 27 to 58, with mid to high income levels, who live in Pennsylvania in the US. Families and younger couples, who like food, who want a variety of beer, that are adventurous with their tasting and trying new things.
We would love a design that: - Focuses on the Well Crafted logo and beer name. - Will become a template for other beer labels. For example, this design will be altered for 100 more beer styles. - Several (3 to 5) fonts that look good together and have a fun, fresh, approachable, adventurous personality. These fonts will be used on this label and on the 100 other beer labels that we make. - The fonts do not have to be our current fonts. - Empty/negative space for a simple, modern look. On the front panel: - The Well Crafted logo. Example: the vertical logo, the horizontal logo, or cut apart the hop icon and the text as long as both are on the front panel on the center and top. - The beer name, beer style, and hops. Example: Hop Monger, India Pale Ale, with Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Amarillo. On the back panel: - Repeat the beer style and hops. Possibly make an icon for this info. Example: Style: IPA, Hops: Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Amarillo. In a box, circle, or other shape. - An area that measures 2” x 4.5” of empty space for legal requirements and instructions to be added later. - Imagery can go on the front or back panels.
What to avoid
Very busy designs. Styles that only work for one beer label. Stock images.

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their product label.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
nic5I collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected 3 winners!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
