Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our family grows already in 3rd generation mainly apples but also other fruits as strawberries, cherries and pears. We sell our products directly to our customers on various farmers market in the area of Frankfurt/Germany. We also produce apple juice and apple wine (German: “Apfelwein”) – a regional version of a dry cider which is a very typical and popular drink in this region of Germany. It’s a refreshing drink, especially for the summer, with about 6% alcohol.
Based on our traditional apple wine we created now a sparkling version. Especially for this product we use a wine made 100% out of a premium kind of apple called “Rubinette”. Our apple wine will go through a filtration and carbonation process and will be bottled in clear glass bottles. We will also indroduce a non-alcoholic version of this product.
Point of sale for the two products will be through direct sales at local farmers markets and later on also via an online shop. The customer target group on the market ranges from end 30s to end 60s and is usually a bit more conservative, looking for high quality and healthy products directly from the producer.
Nevertheless we imagine a rather modern design of the “Apfelsecco” bottles to attract younger customers through direct sales as well as later via the online web shop.

What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We’re looking for design proposals for bottle labels for our new "Apfelsecco" with following scope:
- Front and back bottle label for the
o Alcoholic version (product 1 “Apfelsecco”)
o Nonalcoholic version (product 2 “Apfelsecco alkoholfrei”)
- Suggestion for bottle top aligned with design proposal
The Labels should reflect the high quality of the natural ingredients and the product itself.
A rather modern design of the labels to attract younger customers in the direct sales as well as later via the online web shop. Still, the existing and more conservative customers should recognize that the design is made for sparkling apple wine (“Apfelsecco”). Therefore the design shouldn’t be too abstract.
