Chateau St Jacques d'Albas
Description of the product
We are are vineyard in the South of France (Minervois- see site https://chateaustjacques.com/) producing top-class red, white and rose wines. We export some 80+% of our wines around the world. The vineyard has wonderful history, including a 11th century chapel and is surrounded by the Black Mountains, lots of nature, plants garrigue and forests. We also host concerts, tours and have gites. We are looking to update our range of wines as we move into our 'organic' phase and with a younger team at the helm. We are looking to rename our mid-range "flagship" wine to Albas. This will replace the current "Domaine" and "Chateau" wines (merge them). The name Albas comes from the historic name of the village that once stood on the site of the vineyard and references the willow/silver trees that stood. We will offer a red and white wine in the same range. It is important that the wines across the new ranges of Petit St Jacques (entry level), Albas (mid-level) and La Chapelle (top end) have some consistency and you can see a design theme across the range. Description of the product target audience
Wine needs mass appeal as sold internationally
We are looking to update our range of wines as we move into our 'organic' phase. We are seeking an updated front label for our new mid-level wine we are calling Albas. Must haves: - Name "Albas" as main feature - The year, in this case 2019 and in a format we can easily update annually, ideally with no special font that needs to be purchased - the words "Minervois" for red and "Pays d'Oc" for white - the capsule is silver and it is a cork bottle the same style as in the images of the previous "Chateau" attached Optional - Text? - Vineyard name is "Chateau St Jacques d'Albas". We previously included it either as separate banner as per other designs (see website) or included on main level with no separate top label. However this is not essential. We have a logo included in the uploaded file. Look at our other wines for the pattern where and how we include on the other bottles. http://chateaustjacques.com/our-wines - Due to regulatory concerns, Chateau St. Jacques d'Albas is for the red "Minervois". Domaine St. Jacques d'Albas is for the white "Pays d'Oc". - We have a few illustrations, such as the trees and Chapel image that could be used Output - Front label - back label, but not required immediately - We are also open to the redesign of "d'A" logo and using it more centrally in the design of our label Files required - The original, layered and editable file (ideally in Illustrator) with dielines and 10 layers to hide / show the year starting at 2019 up to 2029, so the printers can easily update. - A vector EPS file in digital (RGB) format - A vector EPS file in print (CMYK) format - A high resolution web preview file (PNG, JPEG, PDF) of the label and of the bottle with the label
What to avoid
Too many colours, stock imagery and anything else that is not easy to update annually - colours: The more colours, the higher the print cost for us, so less is better, ideally 2 colours for example, or maybe 3. Gold or embossing is more expensive for us too, but if you think can really distinguish the label, we are open to it and use it on other labels. Textured paper is also feasible.
The bottle is a "bourgogne" type bottle with cork seal and tinted. Dimensions are flexible for the front label. Please see attachment for exact bottle dimensions. For our other bottles, we use 80mm width and 74mm height, with a smaller label above for the Chateau logo 80mm/16mm. These are the cutout dimensions, design should be a few mm bigger outside cutout to allow for printer slight misalignment. Front label can be much bigger or smaller as you see fit.
