Food & Drink
We sell reusable straws for coffee drinking. The straws protect teeth from staining and are BPA free.
What's your vision?
We are looking to create the artwork for our "coffee straw" packaging. The packaging is a simple paper tube. We have attached examples of similar tubes and we have also attached the dimensions of our tube. The tube is a sphere shape. You may use the entire tube for the artwork. There is a lip around the top and bottom of the tube which is 3mm thick. So if you choose to put artwork on the top or bottom of the tube please be aware that the diameter of the space you can use is only about 30mm (not the full 36mm shown in our dimensions drawing). We have attached an example of another paper tube which has a lip and artwork on the top as an example. We are looking for the packaging to have an "organic" and "minimalist" feel to it. We'd like a natural tan color as the background for the entire packaging (or at least the body of the packaging and the cap could be a different color). This tan color should be something similar to the example tubes which are attached. If you are able to make a 3D rendering of your design (as well as the flat file that we can send to our manufacturer) this is preferred! But the flat file will do if that's all you have time for. For your reference, the base color of our straws is Pantone 477C and the logo is Pantone 474C. We have attached images of our straw as well. It has an oval shape so that it can fit properly into a to-go coffee cup. We would like you to somehow show an image of the straw on the outside of the packaging so that people understand what is inside. There will be 2 straws in each package and we want to convey that to our customers as well. Whether that be by literally showing to straws on the package, or by saying something like "x2", or a totally different idea, is up to you! Here is a list of things we would like to incorporate into the artwork: 1.) The straw itself, or a rendering of the straw(s) (as mentioned previously), so that consumers understand what the product looks like 2.) We want to communicate that a stainless steel straw cleaning brush is included with the two straws 3.) Our logo (which is attached). You may use any colors you think look good for our logo. And you can place it wherever you think looks best. We do want it to be featured though, because the name itself will spark interest when people see it on shelves. 3.) We want to communicate that the straws are reusable (silicone) and good for the environment. This is very important. We want to literally say "reusable" and 100% silicone somewhere on the straw. Also we need to say that they are BPA free so no harmful plastics will leech into the coffee 4.) A phrase or picture (which we would love your creative help with) which communicates that using a straw to drink coffee will protect your teeth from staining. We were thinking something like "Smile on, your teeth are protected" with a wide smiley face underneath with glistening teeth. But that's just our own lame idea, feel free to do something totally different. The point that people have to understand is that drinking coffee can stain teeth, but drinking through our straws will prevent this. 5.) The straws are oval shaped to fit "to-go" coffee cups, but can also easily be used in coffee mugs 6.) The straw size will fit any small and medium to-go coffee cups (up to 16oz cups) 7.) Very easy to clean, and dishwashable 8.) We would like to communicate that our packaging is recyclable, but this is not an absolute priority 9.) Anything else you think would look good. A to-go coffee cup with our straw in it, a coffee mug, coffee beans..... anything like that. Although please keep in mind we don't want this whole thing to be too cluttered and this may be challenging since the tube is skinny and not very tall! It doesn't have to be all text in the artwork. If symbols or pictures can convey the messages, go for it! Thank you so much!
We plan to be very engaged and give feedback to designers who put time and effort into this project. Please feel free to ask us any questions. We are super excited about this and would love you to give it a shot! We will have more design work in the future, so if we end up working with someone we like then we would be happy to use you for other projects.
