Nonesuch Distillery got their new product label by running a design contest:
Create a label for a new and unique premium liqueur

Food & Drink
We produce distilled spirits such as gin and liqueurs. As a craft distillery the quantity of product is always limited and that has an effect on the price point. Hence the target market is the high end for a consumer of premium drinks (usually imported).
What's your vision?
We require a new label for a product that is unique to our distillery. We don't want to change our logo so that is to be incorporated into the design however you can be innovative and unrestrained in the rest of the design. We do not want this label to be a near copy of the label for our existing product. The product is a combination of premium Tasmanian malt spirit and Sloe Berries. Malt spirit is distilled from malted barley. The product is a rich ruby red. The product will retail for a similar price to top shelf whiskys so the label needs to convey quality, rarity and must appeal to the connoisseur. Nonesuch means "something without equal" and our products reflect that definition, now we need a label that also reflects that. PLEASE NOTE: The following information MUST by law be included on the label - name and address of distillery alcohol by volume percentage (eg 30.5% abv) quantity (500ml in this case) Standard drinks (eg Approx 12.1 standard drinks Made in Australia (Tasmania should be clearly identified separate to this) The product will simply be named "Nonesuch Sloe Malt"
The label is for a bottle produccd by Saverglass called Long Island HEIGHT: 230.5 mm BASE SECTION: 90.4x50.5 mm SHOULDER SECTION: 90.4x50.5 mm Our website is www.nonesuchdistillery.com.au and might help you develop your concept. Do not feel limited to rectangular labels. We are looking for innovation and, just for reference, have attached some whisky labels that have moved away from the rectangular. Mind you, we are not ruling rectangular out either! More products are in development so there is potential for additional work for the winning designer.
