Hook and Plumb has just finished working with a designer to craft a logo - something that had a touch of vintage, some whimsey but still masculine.
The focus of this project will be the product labels.
We will have three label sizes:
-- one is a 2.5 inch round,
-- 1.67 inch round
-- and then a bottle label - 2 inches tall and 5 inches wide for a full wrap (if it looks better, I am leaning toward a vertical label that would be 2 inches tall and either 1 or 2 inches wide...and completely open to options!).
The containers are a 3oz metal tin (for the 2.5 inch round label), a 1 oz tin (for the 1.67 inch label) and then a 2 oz amber glass bottle. You can see the exact containers at http://www.sks-bottle.com/340c/fin7.html and http://www.sks-bottle.com/340c/fin1a.html
The labels will need to have space for:
--the logo :)
--the name Hook & Plumb
--the name of the product (moutsache wax (in the 1oz tin), beard balm (in the 3oz tin) and beard oil(in the 2 oz bottle.).
--The ingredients (sample list: Castor oil, Kukui nut oil, Shea butter, beeswax, Cedar Atlas, Ylang Ylang essential oil and vitamin e.)
--the size of the container.
--perhaps a witty quote or brief instructions
I can get a variety of colors - kinda leaning toward a kraft brown - but am really open on this one (onlinelabels.com has more options than I would have ever hoped for).
The labels will be printed on inkjet or laser printers - leaning toward laser from a quality perspective.
I like clean, modern and simple.
Here are some examples that I like from a style perspective:
