How linc started their print or packaging design journey
We are an after school tutoring/mentoring program that provides free help to children in the inner city of Huntsville, AL. The Linc is short for the area we are working with "Lincoln Village". And we are "linking" communities of people through these children. The children in our program are provided transportation from school everyday to our facility - they have playground, a computer for each child, a learning cubical for each child, they are provided a hot meal everyday, and each child is provided with 1 on 1 tutoring everyday. Tutors are volunteers. Then we provide transportation to their homes every night. Wednesdays are "field trip" days - we try to do fun things from swimming lessons, skating, hikes on the mountain to service projects. Trying to provide these children with the same experiences we had when we were children.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Potential Volunteers for Tutoring, Mentoring and Food Preparation and Donors that could help financially support the work. Most of the audience will be reached through churches in the area, college social clubs, FCA, etc..
We would like a single fold brochure - probably post card size when it is folded. Something that looks professional - we are only a 3 full time employee organization but have a lot of volunteers and we want this piece of literature to create credibility within our audience. We want it to be simple - a good look on the cover and when you open the inside for it to share the message of what we do (above). Not a lot of words but with a quick glance someone would know what we do. We will want to incorporate contact information, logo and photos. We want it to convey the message that we need their help and that they will be blessed as well by giving to these children.
