Patent Poster Template

What's your vision?
I need a 24" x 36" (standard size) poster template for celebrating historically significant patents (such as US 223,898, Thomas Edison's Electric Lamp patent... the light bulb, attached). The elements that should be highlighted are the title of the patent, the patent number, the figures (drawings), a brief amount of text, the signature of the inventor (if available on the patent), a portrait or photo of the inventor (istockphoto.com or the like is okay), a selection of photos of the invention ... such as its evolution through time, etc. Basically, these are posters that will hang in patent attorney offices, and will be interesting for clients to look at. They shouldn't be too funky, but they can be modern in style. Just not too "out there" because my audience is a bit conservative. If I see multiple entries I like I'll add additional awards. I need the template to be easy to update with any given patent, where I can just drop-in the elements to create a new poster for a new patent. So, the challenge for you is 1) make it look good, and 2) make it easy for a novice illustrator user to just drop-in the necessary elements. I've attached a (large 7MB full size) poster that highlight multiple patents from a single inventor, just as a sample... but what I want for THIS project is a poster that is just going to feature a single patent. So there's a lot of real estate to use-up in a 24" x 36" poster. Good luck! I've also uploaded three historically significant patents for you to use... take your pick for your entry.
Feel free to do inverse effects, etc., as long as you can tell me how it's done for subsequent posters. I will need instructions from you on how to take a new patent and create a new poster based on your template.
