What a brilliant professional. SweetPotato did an outstanding job on the initial cover and then was ready and eager to make the adjustments I needed for the final product. With attention to detail and prompt communications it has been an absolute delight to work with SweetPotato and I would do so again in a heartbeat :-)

Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Hi everybody! We are developing a course/guide for students on how to: Set goals and raise their standards, and improve effectiveness of study using mindmapping techniques. We need an illustration/logo that will be on the box/DVD cover, the cover of the guide, and any other material we provide. The concept is that we are providing students a 'Roadmap' on how to succeed using brainstorms/flowcharts.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We want a slick, simple design depicting a road heading into the distance. The title will be "Student RoadMap" We want it drawn similar to the Dolectures (dolectures.com) title (clear and bold), and a tagline "The unorthodox guide to hacking your mind and raising your standards" written underneath.
We are thinking either light blue background and white title, and maybe with some black (think twitter colour scheme.
Again simplicity is key - We dont want it to be overwhelmed with more than a few colours!
We have added some simple sketches below. If you have a good idea on how to incorporate a simple mindmap into the title graphic that would be awesome, but we dont want it too cluttered. (eg. some branches coming off the title).
Other design notes:
We want it to be a super clean title/illustration in the same vein as many of the new 'techy' webpage designs coming out such as the simplicity of vimeo, dolectures.com, milk inc (milkinc.com), and so that it can ultimately be fit in to a simple webpage design such as those mentioned and http://www.plantate.net
We want to stay well AWAY from the traditional design of educational resource styles: ie. photos of students, classrooms and general dorkiness. The whole point of our product is that it is NOT your traditional study skills course. It is to be appealing to upper highschool/university students of this modern age of facebook, twitter and simple, clean designs.
As noted above we also want the design to be adaptable to webpage designs/colour schemes, a logo etc. Whoever we choose for the final design has the opportunity to work with us further adapting it for these formats. For now though we just want a design for the cover of the book and webpage background image.
