Blendium got their new print or packaging design by running a design contest:
Green company seeks postcard design for NEW recycling business

Ecycler.com creates a new way to recycle by connecting people discarding recyclables with those wishing to collect them. Ecycler is the single web destination for recycling online. For traditional materials; such as, cans, bottles and newspapers, ecycler provides an alternative to the many U.S. (and Canadian) households, institutions and businesses that are not offered curb-side recycling. It’s also an option for people who have to pay for curb-side recycling or who want to have their recyclables picked up when and where they desire. For non-traditional materials (tennis balls, wine bottle corks, eyeglasses, et al.) ecycler offers the opportunity to recycle these items that are not usually recyclable via local recycling centers. For larger items (appliances, junk, scrap metal), ecycler provides a pickup service.
What's your vision?
For our ecycler Canada site (http://ecycler.ca/) we are launching a new junk business (think 800-Got-Junk). We will be sending out post cards to announce our new business line--this is what we'd like to have designed. We have four sides to the post card: 1) Front - 5.5" x 4.25" 2) Inside (top) - 5.5" x 4.25" 3) Inside (bottom) - 5.5" x 4.25" 4) Back (address) - 5.5" x 4.25" The post card will be 5.5" x 8.5" FOLDED (and FULL BLEED), so the images should be slightly larger. Please see the specifications as attached (6x9FoldedSpecSheet.pdf). FRONT: - imagery of Junk and/or Appliances and/or Scrap Metal recycling - general feeling of "being green" - general feeling of "recycling" - optional: include a truck / pickup for collection of materials - if appropriate, include workers - could be a "fun" design, but no cartoons - could be artsy, something that can stand on its own. - it's not necessary to display our logo or words on the front, we'll have ample space on the inside for these elements INSIDE (top): - simple design - not cluttered - use ecycler colors - ecycler logo somewhere on the inside (top or bottom) INSIDE (bottom): - inside bottom will be for our text, we'll add this in later... - maybe a border in one of ecycler's colors - otherwise, simply leave white BACK (no design required, will be for addresses and our logo)
Our initial mailing will be to businesses (and some consumers) in the Vancouver (Canada) area.
