I need a flyer to convince parents to sign up their kids to UCode (or at least get them to come visit and talk to us). The flyer is standard American letter size (8.5 inches by 11 inches). I'll be printing front and back on hard glossy paper. So I need a design for the front and the back of the flyer.
The flyer will also be mailed and so it needs a small rectangle for the address it will be delivered to and another rectangle for postage. DON'T WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS, I'M JUST LISTING THE SPECS HERE IF YOU'RE CURIOUS. I've attached EDDM_specs_retail.pdf, which will show the rectangle for the address the flyer will be delivered to. Just use the "Local Postal Customer" label on the bottom left of the PDF. I've also attached EDDM_Retail_Indicia.eps, which is the actual postage rectangle. It needs to be on the flyer according to the following specifications:
* Place the EDDM Retail Indicia in the upper right hand corner of the mail piece.
* Leave 1/8" space from top and right edge.
* Should fit in the area 1.625" from the right edge and 1.375" from top edge.
* No specific size requirement, but must be larger than .5" x .5".
* Font must be in all caps and minimum 4 point size.
FOR EVERYTHING BELOW, THESE ARE SUGGESTIONS AND MESSAGING I'D LIKE, BUT FEEL FREE TO SHORTEN OR ELIMINATE PARTS TOWARDS THE GOAL OF MAKING A GREAT FLYER THAT GETS PARENTS AND KIDS MORE INTERESTED IN SIGNING UP!
I can provide photos of students, myself or my 6 year old son who's my inspiration for UCode. In the meantime, feel free to use stock photos I can replace if you choose to use photos... A computer screen with code in it might be really great because it shows we teach hardcore code, we're not just a silly computer camp. I've attached just an example window of Ruby code (feel free to crop it however you want) and here are just some examples of colorful Ruby code screenshots:
Our phone number (888) 888-8681, website (http://www.ucode.com) and address should be prominently displayed. Address is:
980 Artesia Blvd
Hermosa Beach, CA 90254
Might be important to mention somewhere this is for 7-18 year olds.
* Fun Way to Exercise Minds
* Rigorous Problem Solving
* Highly Trained Tutors
* Learn Valuable Skills
* Individual Attention
Optionally point out that we offer a free assessment test.
UCode is about developing young minds and letting them figure out how to solve problems logically and creatively. Code is the most efficient, fun and rewarding way to do this while at the same time giving kids a truly valuable skill in our increasingly technology oriented world.
Students attend twice a week where tutors work closely with them to ensure they:
* enjoy the learning process
* progress at the right pace
* fully understand concepts
* take certification exams
* improve past work
Ask the question: "Are you ready to give your child a SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE in our global economy?" SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE should be emphasized in some way; maybe bold, italics, different color or all caps..
Maybe with the above question state: "Whether you want a fun and lucrative career or to launch the next Facebook, there's a serious shortage of good software developers."
A map of the location might be a great addition.
I'd prefer the flyer to be in Adobe InDesign format as that's what I use and can then easily modify it later. But I'm ok with anything.
