Sshapiro got their new print or packaging design by running a design contest:
Bright Star Schools needs a new print or packaging design

Bright Star Schools is an emerging charter management organization operating two tuition-free public charter schools and serving over 760 students in Los Angeles. The organization will soon be opening a third school and is looking for a visual aid.
What's your vision?
Bright Star Schools would like to create an image/diagram that captures the foundations and values of the school in a way that is clean and comprehensive. The image will be used as a large visual aid, primarily on posters; nothing smaller than 8.5x11. Most schools have a basic image for marketing purposes, but we want viewers to have a comprehensive idea of all of Bright Star’s unique programs. Target audience may include teachers, students, administrators, board members, funders, educators, and community members. Communication Goal: The picture/diagram should communicate the 4 foundations of Bright Star: Teaching/Leadership, Family Engagement, Academic Program, and School Culture while incorporating all of the specific bulleted programs (see below) so the viewer can get a snapshot of the school. The image should be informative, clear, youthful, and success-oriented. We encourage the use of colors, textures, and different fonts in order to clearly differentiate between the different aspects of the diagram. Current Approach: The uploaded pyramid image demonstrates our attempt to create a “building effect” with Teaching/Leadership and Family Engagement at the bottom, laying the foundation of support that will influence student success. On top of these 2 foundations are the School Culture and Academic Program foundations. We want to communicate the idea that when all foundations are in place, student engagement will naturally occur, leading to College and Life Readiness. The uploaded pyramid image is very basic (somewhat dry) and not eye-catching. We want to develop a new image that is more creative. The pyramid concept is one option, but not necessarily the best one. We’ve considered a 5-point star with “College and Life Readiness” in the middle, but we have not yet figured out how to organize all the information. Must include this information: FAMILY ENGAGEMENT • School Site Council • Action Team for Partnership • Community Service Commitment • Parent Ambassadors • Technology and College Admissions Workshops • Family Newsletter • Family Dinners and Parent Appreciation TEACHING/LEADERSHIP • Staff Development • Leadership Training Program • Teacher Evaluation System • Individualized Professional Development • Professional Learning Community • Data-Driven Decision Making • Competitive Salary Scale with Incentive Pay • Performance Management Culture • Faculty Academic Committee • Community Partnerships SCHOOL CULTURE • Life Experience Lessons • Character Development • Choice Theory • Welcome Week • Connecting Place • Student Intervention Model • Accessible and Achievable Standards for All Students • Connector Program: Student Ambassadors • Honor Code • Clear and Transparent Communication of Student Progress • Student Success Teams • Community Service Requirement • Awards and Privileges • Student Accountability • Sports Program and Fitness Goals • Experiential Learning • School Traditions ACADEMIC PROGRAM • Core Foundations: Literacy, Numeracy, Self-Management • College Preparation Curriculum • UP: University Preparation Program • Choices Academy Program • On-Target Catch-Up Progress Reports • Multi-Assessment Approach • Standards-Based Promotion System • Reading Counts Program • Portfolios
