How Meg Mathisen started their print or packaging design journey
I'm Meg Mathisen, a first time novelist with many more books on the way. My stories are dark, suspenseful, humorous and heartwrenching. This book, "Muddied," is the story of Greta, an alcoholic who is haunted and traumatized by her hand in the death of a boy at an ice-covered muddy pig pond when she was eleven. My favorite book cover is "A Million Little Pieces" and I like cover art that is unique and contemporary.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The target audience for MUDDIED is primarily women between 15 and 35 years old. Although the main character is caucasion, this story is relevant across cultural lines, focusing on sexual abuse, alcoholism and suicide. And although dark in subject-matter, the characters are often humorous and live in today's modern technology-driven society.
Please feel free to be creative but an idea I have in mind is a crystal clear vodka bottle with a blueish hue pouring translucent liquid out into what turns into a muddy mess of confusion, pig slop, and darkness.
