The Requiem Project: Emery Theatre
The Requiem Project: Emery Theatre is a non-profit fine arts company that is restoring the 100 year old, Emery Theatre, an acoustically pure theatre in Cincinnati; the restored theatre will have over 1100 seats as well as gallery space and classroom space. (The theatre is NOT yet re-opened, see interior photos attached, but NOT to be included in brochure)
Mission Statement: The revival of Cincinnati’s Emery Theatre is The Requiem Project: the development of an innovative arts destination as a space for creative possibility. The Requiem Project believes meaningful artistic interactions create community.
The Requiem Project "tag-line" is ART MOVES HERE, indicating that this is both a performance venue for dance and live music, an art gallery and an alternative space. "There is art in every corner." This is very important.
This is a NATIONAL center located in downtown Cincinnati; and the target audience would be artists from around the country and Europe.
The Requiem Project: Emery is "ANTIQUE and "COSMOPOLITAN"
Programs offered through The Requiem Project are for PROFESSIONAL artists (not children).

Ideally participants have a professional theatre and dance resume with at least 3 years of professional experience.
The target audience are artists, so they will be attracted to something with an edge, NOT to bright/bold/corporate.
Most participants are NOT familiar with Cincinnati; the Cincinnati panorama graphic included must be prominently placed as this is the visual association.
Most participants are NOT familiar with The Requiem Project: Emery Theatre, and thus this must be hip, modern and distinctive.
Most participants ARE familiar with lead teacher Mary Overlie; Mary is the main attraction, as she is the developer of the technique and RARELY teaches.
Most participants are familiar with the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, and will see this performance opportunity as a major asset.
There is competition: There are 2 other programs running this summer, one of those programs is in New York City and one is in Saratoga Springs, New York. Those programs are more established, but do not have performance credit opportunity.
