How nextmovement started their print or packaging design journey
ARTIST: JB Eckl ::::: ALBUM: Sparks
JB Eckl (http://www.jbeck.com) is a grammy winning producer with numerous credits to his name. Only now is he starting to branch out and emerge from behind the studio doors as an artist in his own right. His skills as a writer, producer, and guitarist are being put into focus as he prepares to launch his first album. A short acoustic EP entitled "imperfectionist" . Typically his music is much more produced with dense ambient layers and electric guitars but this record is being released to showcase his ability to strip the music down to its essence and still rock the house.... imperfections and all. This album will be used to develop his fan base and as the first initial major push for his solo artist career.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The vibe of the project is organic yet classy. An acoustic project by a more seasoned artist. We're looking for modern fonts that add a bit of fashion and elegance to the naturally-themed photos, probably thinner lettering to leave the front photo wide open. If I could have no writing at all, I would! The only place I've found that keeps it intact is at the far upper left corner, so that's my recommendation, but see what works for you.
On the back, anything goes. We have several images to work with. We need some kind of continuity of mood between the front and back, but the specifics are flexible. I'm partial to the shot with the guitar and the boat, but not sure if it will work. Please use your skills to make this cover amazing.
This contest if fast tracked and we will be offering feedback as designs come in... if we find the cover early we will award the prize. Please be ready to turn over artwork and copyright transfer as soon as the contest ends... ideally you include an email to me with your phone number so I can call you just in case. This has to go to duplication within 45 minutes of the contest ending.
We need something creative, unique, and artistic. We have included the images we would like you to use. One is labeled cover... the others can be used for back and insides etc as you see fit. We will critique ideas as they come in. We need to have the entire CD packaging designed. We will be replicating the CD in "eco-wallets". That includes the front, back, and spines, the inside left and right, and the CD Face. I have included the templates in the link below: http://www.nextmovementrecords.com/…plates.zip
We will also be doing a short run with normal CD trays... the only difference will be the spine size. Please make sure the designs have sufficient bleed....
We need final artwork delivered in high resolution (350dpi or higher) PSD files with ALL ThE LAYERS EDITABLE. Please leave at least 1/2" bleed around design for adjustments. We also need the names of all fonts that were used on the cover... and preferably the actual fonts included.
