What's your vision?
We need a movie poster designed for our documentary film BURIED: THE TRUE STORY OF A DEADLY AVALANCHE
In 1982, a deadly avalanche at a popular California ski resort killed 7 people and buried another for five days. Ski patrol worked feverishly to try and find the buried bodies before losing everyone. This film focuses on the story of the ski patrol, what they faced - their emotions, mother nature, weather - and how they battled and persevered to recover the missing bodies before it was too late. In many ways this is a war film, about ski patrol battling mother nature. We want the poster to highlight the ski patrol as the central figure, though it can also bring in elements of snow: avalanche, snowfall, etc. Attached are images of the national ski patrol logo along with images of ski patrol throwing bombs (the primary tactic of mitigating avalanche danger). Please feel free to explore and play with any imagery that you think might work, including imagery of avalanches, snowfall, bombing snow (ski patrol throwing dynamite into the snow to get it to slide), etc. This is a heavy film, and although suspenseful, carries a lot of emotion and tears with it. The poster needs to capture all of that. We suggest looking at the conventions of movie posters for documentary war films, documentaries about military, police, swat teams, etc and following those customs.
