Entertainment & The Arts
Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra recreates what the opening night audiences of the Baroque Era heard: Bach, Mozart and Handel played on instruments authentic to the Baroqe era. Musica Angelica is an internationally renowned Baroque Orchestra. It is dedicated to the historically informed performance of Baroque and early Classical music on period instruments. Its programs include a mixture of known masterworks by composers such as Bach, Handel and Vivaldi, along with rarely heard ‘musical gems’ by lesser-known composers. Our artists are internationally renowned musician/specialists. All of Musica Angelica’s musicians are specially trained to perform on these period instruments and there are only about 200 professional musicians in the U.S. who have this training. Many of the artists have performed, studied or taught at leading musical institutions, including Julliard, Carnegie Hall, the Boston Pops, Geneva University of Music, Walk Disney Concert Hall. The artists have spent decades performing and perfecting their respective instruments, from the lute, to the oboe, violin, and more all over the world, including Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, and North America. In between pieces, the artists perform entertaining vignettes on the historical time period referenced in their music and carry out mini discussions on the differences between these period instruments and modern-day ones. Musica Angelica collaborates with leading performing arts institutions in Southern California including Los Angeles Opera, Long Beach Opera, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Norton Simon Museum, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. www.musicaangelica.org Our target audience is adventurous listeners – as fresh and hip as our music performances, which are interesting and timeless in themselves. Subscription ticket buyers tend to be well established socially and financially. They are more interested in supporting an arts organization, the organization’s mission, and the educational aspect of listening and learning about the music. Purchasing decision maker tends to be female, age 45+.The mailing list is strong to upper income / established zip codes near their venues. Individuals who buy tickets for a single concert are seeking an experience and are more interested in the unique aspects of the performance. They tend to be younger (25-45) and gender balanced. Pandora Classical channels attract younger listeners, and the click through rate was high for our test.
What's your vision?
Hip, fresh, exciting, bold, inviting illustration. Dimensions are 25” x 40” A graphically compelling, attractive concert poster to promote the 2016 – 2017 Musica Angelica season. This commemorative piece will help drum up excitement for the upcoming season and serve as a premium with a season subscription (basically an incentive to purchase the subscription). We’re looking for an iconic design that can be used at any scale, including social media. • It could be interesting to feature the Baroque era instruments. Some photos of instruments like ours are attached. • Musicians can be illustrated in modern dress: no frock coats, or powered wigs: our performers don’t wear them. • We’re a class, and Classical, act. Cutesy is not our taste. Please allow for space where we can add the concert information, contact info, and logo.
