Entertainment & The Arts
We are launching an audio "radioplay" concept.
What's your vision?
We are seeking a compelling design for a "poster" for an audio radioplay called HIGHCLIMBER. This would be designed like a one-sheet or movie poster, but without the billing block (where all the credits are). The primary usage for this image would be as an avatar in various podcasting and audio platforms. HIGHCLIMBER is a story about a desperate farmer who leaves wife and children, following his volatile brother to stake their claim in the savage 1890's timber boom of the American West. Because this is an audio production, you could treat it more like a book cover than a movie poster because the actors won't be seen by the audience. - Use of fonts should reflect an "old west" aesthetic, but with a dark vibe - The story is dark and gritty. If it were a movie, it would have an "R" rating - The only text needed is the title "HIGHCLIMBER" which should be high-contrast against the other elements so it is easily read as a small avatar on a mobile phone screen - The story is primarily about the hardship of the two brothers in a menacing timber town trying to be lumberjacks, so very tall evergreen trees should be a prominent element in the design - Depicting the primary characters is not necessary, but if done, it would need to be done with illustration of the 5 primary characters: * Two brothers in their mid 30s (one responsible, the other is more wild and unpredictable) * An alluring old west prostitute * A big tough evil lumberjack (like Paul Bunyan) * A plain but beautiful woman of the Midwest - The main characters never ride horses in the story - Will also consider a design with only the two brothers illustrated - Orientation: Square at print resolution for up to 8.5" width - No empty town settings please. This creates a distracting question for the audience, "what happened to the people?" - No old west cowboys or sheriffs. The main characters are lumberjacks in the old west. Please see attached example.
Thank you very much for submitting, and, good luck! 👍
