We are a production company producing a short film trilogy. The subject matter, narrative and target audience is 2SLGBTQIA, but also open to a general audience.
What's your vision?
A poster for a romantic comedy short film called Disclosure. We want the visuals to be like the classic, conventional romcom movie posters with a fresh and modern twist. Or break away from convention and surprise us, as long as it speaks to the film's situational narrative of a meet-cute, date and the accompanying chemistry and romance. Just make sure it captures and communicates rom-com energy. About the Project: This short film is a transwoman-focused narrative exploring the politics of disclosing and the experience of dating while trans. It is part one in a transamorous short film trilogy, three stories exploring the stages and experiences of trans desire, dating and love - and the lessons learned by the protagonists. This series will be executed with a transamorous gaze and through a trans feminist lens. Logline: When a handsome, charming stranger asks out a trans woman, she battles with disclosing her trans identity - only to learn he has something to reveal too. Synopsis: Navigating her new neighbourhood, Libbie gets lost on her way to a health food store and has a chance encounter with a friendly stranger, Martino. It's instant mutual attraction and chemistry. She agrees to meet him again for a date, then battles with how, when and if to tell him that she's a trans woman. But revelation takes a turn when he opens up and shares that he actually likes trans women. Characters: Libbie - A cute, quirky, slightly awkward Indigenous trans woman. A witty, bright, romantic feminist on a mission, she is thrown off-kilter when a chivalrous man expresses interest in her. Martino - A fresh, athletic and virile cisgender Italian Canadian man. A go-getter who's perceptive with old-worldly charm. He meets an alluring trans woman who makes him look deeper within himself.
I've submitted movie posters that I am inspired by and like the design to give you an idea of what I am open to. Take it or leave it. Images for the film are photos from set and screenshots of the film. Sorry to overwhelm you with so many, but I wanted to give you options so if there is a particular frame, composition, moment, or look that you like, you can use it. In these images, there are certain facial expressions that I like on one actor in a shot, but not so much on the other. Feel free to merge the most flattering facial expressions/moments into a composite image if you need to. Lastly, the screengrabs are from our picture lock edit, which has not yet been colour graded. We directors and producers would like the colours to pop in a heightened reality kind of way. So please make sure the colours are vibrant, warm, and romantic. I hope all that makes sense. Thank you!
