Check out hawkDriver's Poster contest…
We provide quality, religious-themed vintage posters based on major biblical themes that remind and inspire. This product will be delivered/sold in print through an online vendor. Our target audience is the Judeo Christian population looking for "unique" religious art.
What's your vision?
Hello Designers! I am looking for a unique, vintage travel poster based on a biblical theme. We're going for an inspiring, "other world" look, like something similar to art deco and nouveau. Also, Alan Lee's "Lord of the Rings" artwork is a style we like. We're interested in perhaps a watercolor look (?), but we're very open to other mediums. Please avoid anything cartoonish or one dimensional. We have a very specific theme in mind for our first piece--"Romance/Love" from the Song of Solomon. We want this poster to catch the overall theme of the book, "Song of Solomon," from the Old Testament which is romantic love. Text: "Lovers' Getaway" (smaller font at top of poster--font should be in the style of vintage/romantic) "Visit the Mountains of Spices" (tall/bold/large font at bottom of poster--this phrase should really stand out!) "Arise my love, my beautiful one, and come away with me!" (smaller font below but should also be prominent) Feel free to be creative with the positioning and size of the text. Graphics: We have in mind the silhouette (possibly) or more detailed figures of a man and a woman whose body language says "in love" situated/running/walking/moving toward the mountains in a garden or flowery field with a beautiful mountain expanse (maybe also a distant waterfall?) in the background. Would like to have water in there somewhere. The actual location for the setting is in the southern Mediterranean region of Palestine, but we're not too wrapped up about the accuracy of the terrain and vegetation (though date palms, olive trees, pomegranates, grape vines and the like would make up the vegetation). We want to capture the beauty and romantic mood more than anything while still maintaining a vintage and"ethereal" feel. As for the amount of detail, please see the attached examples. We like the level of detail these posters utilize and the mood they inspire. One more thing--we'd like to weave one or more lilies into the poster somewhere. The lily is a symbolic theme of the book. For the color scheme--perhaps earth tones or pastels. The attachments below have color palettes we like as well. With all that said, feel free to be creative!! Dimensions: The poster must be 11 x 17 with approx. Prefer 1/4 in white space border all around. 300 DPI and format fully layered and alterable. We must be able to customize/manipulate the text. All fonts must be public domain and/or open source. Can't wait to see what you all come up with!
Our goal is to find a designer(s) who meets the style and mood we are attempting to create and will work with us one-on-one in the future to create a series of travel posters on a number of themes/stories from the Bible. We want to capture more biblical stories/themes that inspire love, friendship, encouragement, courage, honor, faith, etc.

To sum it up, Art Bearman did a really great job! He was always very responsive and implemented change requests very fast. Furthermore, he did more than he actually would've to.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
