Bike to the Beach, Inc. ("Bike to the Beach" or "B2B") is organized as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization exclusively for educational, charitable, and social purposes. Through numerous events, B2B promotes biking as a viable way of running errands, commuting, traveling, exercising, reducing carbon emissions, networking, and public service. Our goal is to educate urban residents about the benefits of bike riding so that they might begin biking on a regular basis. Through the creation of this strong, pro-active, and like-minded network, we are able to focus our growing resources on raising money and awareness, not only for our own organization, but also for an annually-determined charitable cause. Donations from our past and current efforts have been donated to Autism Speaks and other local autism partners to aid in their tireless efforts to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders. Our target audience include cyclists, fun and adventure seekers, fitness nuts, and those who care about autism.
What's your vision?
We are looking for a design of our marketing poster and flyers to better communicate our brand. Bike to the Beach is a cycling organization that prides itself on organizing fun cycling events to raise money and awareness for autism. Our ride participants are motivated to join our community for a variety of reasons. Bike to the Beach’s participants, generally, are motivated by four factors: the cause, the fitness challenge, the ride, and the beach. Of the motivating factors, what makes a Bike to the Beach event unique is its approach to creating a fun, entertaining, and enjoyable weekend experience that inspires people to join a challenging cycling event for a great cause. We need help creating marketing material that to embrace this “fun” motivating factor. Our events are NOT JUST cycling events, they are fun, community building, lasting experiences. Our poster and other design material needs to reflect who we are and what we do. And it needs to do it so that when a potential rider sees our poster at a bike shop, gym, coffee shop, our poster stands out compared to our competition. I have included some pictures of activities at our events as well as our logo.
We host 5 bike rides in 5 cities. We are in DC, Baltimore, NE, Boston, and Miami. We have a running theme of having a silhouette of the city in the background of our posters and other flyers. We like this, but are open to suggestions. We typically produce the following items: - Posters (11x17) - Business card sized flyers (that fit easily in pockets and purses) - Flyer brochures (may not produce these in 2015) - Postcard size flyers I have included a few examples of posters that I have seen that communicate different aspects of events by using pictures and other techniques. These are included as guides to point you in the right direction. I have also added a few pictures from our events this year of different aspects of our events. Lastly, I have included our logo as well as a color guide for our brand's colors. Please contact me with any questions.
