The Ryerson Engineering Student Society (RESS) represents all full-time undergraduate engineering students in FEAS. We provide various activities and services to our members, including support for student groups, academic and career events, publications, leadership training, social events and community service activities.
What's your vision?
BACKGROUND CONTEXT: RESS is funded by a student levy collected from all students at the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at Ryerson University. Currently, the levy sits at $33.70 a year and RESS is proposing a Faculty wide referendum (vote) to increase the levy to $65 a year. The money raised from the levy increase will be going to: 74% will go towards Student Group Funding (will be increased from $16,000 to $100,000) 13% will go towards Conference Aid (will be increased from $5000 to $20000) 8% will go towards Thesis Grants (will increase from $9000 to $18000) 5% will go towards the Endowment Fund (will be started at $5000) We are looking to create a couple of catchy and creative posters urging students to VOTE YES for this referendum. The dates for them to vote at Nov 4th at 8am to Nov. 7th at 4:30pm. Voting is done online at my.ryerson.ca ------------ Some of the student groups that support the referendum have provided quotes that ca be incorporated into the posters if it works. Here are some: "I support the RESS referendum because it will give student groups the resources they need to be truly internationally competitive and thus will continue to build Ryerson's reputation as an exceptional engineering university." - Steve Jones, President, TETRA Society ""I support the RESS Referendum because it will benefits engineering students" - Adrian Strupp, VP Student Affairs, Aerospace Course Union "I support the RESS Referendum 2013-2014 because it will help increase funding for Aerospace events and conferences." - Elio Xhemalaj, President, Aerospace Course Union "I support the RESS Referendum because it will aid in the strengthening of our student community and the money collected would create more opportunities benefiting Ryerson Engineering students." - Anna-Alexandra Petrescu, President, RECESS ------------ POSTER DETAILS: From the poster we are looking for: 1) A nice infographic (or other cool way) to show the increases to in student funding as mentioned above. 2) A clear and visible VOTE YES (or similar) sign the dates and the web link on where to vote. 3) A place to insert one of the quotes used that we can alternate for different variations of the poster. 4) 11 (w) X 17 (h) in size. 5) Not alot of text on the poster - clutter free! The text provided up is to give context not necessarily for usage in the poster. 6) Added some stock photos that can be used. Basically looking a nice, catchy poster that's also simple and delivers the message across to vote!
Essentially we are looking for posters that urge students to "VOTE YES" - but a creative slogan / catch phrase is also welcome!
