Accounting & Financial
We sell a software program that assists retirement plan participants by recommending an appropriate model portfolio for investing.
What's your vision?
We are had poker chips designed that will be attached with rubber cement to this 1 page flyer/postcard. While our material is very high level, we would like this marketing piece to be fun and engaging/easy to understand for the audience we are selling to (plan sponsors/advisors/investment committee members/etc). We want this piece to point out the flaws of Monte Carlo but highlight the benefits of Adviceware. I have attached the following items: - a picture of the dice that will be attached to the marketing piece - our logo - Dalbar Certification (our software has been certified by an independent third party according to the rules and regulations set out by the Department of Labor) - Sample brochure (information/verbiage can be pulled from this brochure but it is TOO BUSY) - Adviceware v Non- Advice graph which we would like included in brochure Some other information we would like included: - Monte Carlo is a backward-looking approach to investing; it simulates the past instead of focusing on the now and looking forward. - Monte Carlo, overwhelmingly so, does not recommend professionally manged portfolios; it uses only asset classes available in a plan's core lineup, excluding many non-correlated asset classes being used by top money managers. This process leads to a flaw in design that is then multiplied by the Monte Carlo simulation, leading participants to make investment decisions that may not be appropriate for them, given their desired outcome. - "Before embarking on hours of lectures on Monte Carlo methods, let me offer a warning: Monte Carlo is an extremely bad method; it should be used only when all alternative methods are worse: Source: Alan Sokal, professor of mathematics and physics at University College London and New York University
