The most important component here is trust, so think more like a doctor's office, or like an Ivy League college, and less like an amusement park. Sleek, sophisticated design is important here. It is not at all important for this postcard to match current branding, or use existing logos. The goal is to have people pick up the postcard, have them think "Yeah, this organization looks like they have the sophistication and knowledge to get my child into a Harvard, Princeton, Yale, or Oxford. I should definitely check them out." I imagine this more of a light background - a daytime feel - not a dark, nightime feel. But if you have a different idea that looks better, that's always great.
I have attached a file of a facebook graphic template used for my book. May be a source of inspiration. My website is VohraMethod.com. If you think a photo based approach is better than pure illustration, there are some photos there, and I can provide a few more.
