Community & Non-Profit
We pair college students with experienced mentors who will help the students break into their target industry. Who are we talking to? What insights do we have about them? University students who are enrolled in business programs. They spend most of their day on campus in lectures. A lot of the students are first-generation college. All of the students will have to do internships at some point but have doubts about securing these positions. A mentoring program like ours might be appealing but a lot of the students don't apply because they think they are not a good fit for our program. Students are also overloaded with information and it is hard to stand out. Most students will get our information through communication from their professors, friends, or social media.
What's your vision?
-------------------- Requirements -------------------- Size: We'd prefer one to two pages DIN A4. The flyer will be distributed online as a PDF, so other sizes are also possible, if necessary. Copy: The language the flyer should be in is German. I've attached both, a German and an English version of an old flyer for reference purposes. There is no need to follow that copy exactly, if the design requires fewer characters. What it should include is some bold header, some information about the program, some information about the non-profit, and the application deadline. Imagery: We're open to any images. In the past, we have personalized the flyers for each University by including a representative image of the school - though, that's not a must-have. What we don't want are vector graphics of people (e.g. students) that look as if they were downloaded from Shutterstock. Style: We want a clean, modern, start-upishy flyer. The flyer should not be cluttered and not look like something you would be given at a job fair. In some way, the front page of the flyer should look more like a poster than a traditional flyer. Color scheme: Our primary color is #59C590 and our secondary color is #204F32. Besides that, we work a lot with pastel colors. The cherry on top: We would love a flyer that would scale and could be used on a DIN A4 format as well as on 1080x1080 for social media posts. -------------------- Creative Brief -------------------- What do we want the advertising to do? Build awareness for our non-profit and our mentoring program by grabbing the attention of the students and providing high-level information about the program How do we want them to describe or brand? Legatum should be associated with a "we are here for you" mentality. The students come first and we go the extra mile to help them on their way. It should also be clear that our mentality is that of a start-up and not that of a traditional non-profit. What is the single most important thing we want them to take out of the advertising? Our mentoring program will help them to get where they want to go How can we make this believable? All mentoring pairs are handpicked. We interview every student to learn about their past experience and their career goals. Similarly, we vet every mentor for past experiences and personality. We have a vested interest in the success of our mentee. We check-in quarterly with every mentee and offer a ton of career-relevant experiences besides the mentoring program.
