We would like a full-page print ad designed that we can use in a variety of Mac-focused print magazines (currently i.Business and MacTech). The ad is full page, color.
The primary aim of this ad is to drive people to download the app from our website. Downloading the app is free, and using the app to send email to small mailing lists is also free.
The email campaign space is very crowded with many competitors: MailChimp, Constant Contact, Aweber, etc. Our primary differentiator is that we are not a website, but a native Mac application. In other words, we are not a slow, clunky webapp that runs in the browser, but a fast, native application that is easier-to-use and better-integrated with the Mac than our competitors.
Before you start, please visit our website http://directmailmac.com and familiarize yourself with the product. You'll notice six feature boxes: Compose, Send, Track, Manage, Collaborate, Automate. Those boxes highlight what we have found to be the features that seem to most interest potential customers. Consider using some of those feature bullet points in your design.
We just released a brand new version 4.0 of our app that we would like to promote. Most folks who see the ad will likely never have heard of us. For those that have heard of us, it would be great to have something in the ad that speaks to them, as well. This could be as simple as a mention of a noteworthy new 4.0 feature, for example:
"Now with cloud collaboration and autoresponder features"
"Fresh new design for OS X Yosemite"
But it's totally up to you.
We are giving you, the designer, wide latitude in coming up with a design. We only ask that the design be simple, uncrowded, and clean. Included with this brief are some assets that may help:
- App Icon
But feel free to take any assets from the website, or you can request specific app image assets from me.
Included also is a previous print advertisement for the last version of our software. We don't want an updated version of this, but instead a whole new take.
