We develop software for home furniture stores and office furniture stores in the US.
What's your vision?
Update 12/23/13 6 AM Thanks to everyone who has submitted an entry. The initial project description was perhaps too vague so here is feedback that will hopefully help: 1. You only need to submit the front of the card. I'll develop the backside of the card or work with the winner to develop the back. 2. One the front of the card do not say "Happy New Year". What we want to convey is that with the new year beginning it is time to set goals for 2014 and we hope that they'll consider upgrading their software technology and for that reason contact TheSmartDesigner. 3. What would work is to see one of the two women (or someone else) and somehow also show a yellow note pad on the cover. On the yellow note pad we'll see someone, e.g. the store owner, has handwritten something like "Goal for 2014 - Work Smarter Not Harder". Underneath that -"How? Leverage technology to improve efficiencies, manage better and grow revenue". Underneath that or maybe a arrow pointing down to where they write: "Contact The Smart Designer to see a demo of the SmartDesigner project management and POS systems. " Underneath that our phone number hand written and circled or underlined for emphasis. Update 12/22/13 4 PM Sorry for the confusion, but the card should not say "Happy New Year". The goal is convey that since a new year has begun it is time to think about goals for the new year and we'd like them to think about contacting us to find out how our software can help them be more efficient and improve their bottom line. Update 12/22/13 9 AM If you can come up with an effective and attractive way to display the features of the DesignSmart system on the front of the card, then that might work. I that is what we decide to go with, then I will create the text for the back of the card. On the front of the card it would also be good to have some kind of headline like, "Increase Efficiency and Your Bottom Line with DesignSmart". Original Description: We would like a design for a 5" x 7" postcard that will be sent to the management of home furniture and office furniture stores. The goal is to tell them it is a new year and they should think about upgrading their software technology so they can be more efficient and profitable in 2014. This must drive designers like you crazy, but we don't really have a clue what we want. On the plus side you can release your creative side and give it a shot. If you think of a scale with the left end anchored by the terms "Traditional/Typical/Dull" and the right anchored with "Crazy/Outlandish/Radical", then we see the goal of this card is to be somewhere just to the right of center. The adjectives "clever" and "eye catching" come to mind. Please visit our website, TheSmartDesigner.com, to get an idea of who we are. Also attached are a couple of photos that you can use if you think they might work for your design. One is supposed to look like a “typical” designer, and the other a “typical” business manager. Feel free to incorporate any other photos from our website. Also attached is our logo that needs to show up somewhere. Since we are a new company we don’t have much brand recognition yet. Our company name is “The Smart Designer” and the software product we are advertising is called “DesignSmart”. Below is some possible copy for the back of the card. “Work smarter not harder in 2014 with the DesignSmart project management system. Designed for interior designers and furniture retail stores, DesignSmart and optional-add on modules provides the following features: • Specification Items • Image Library • Proposals • Invoice • Purchase Orders • Inventory Control • Point of Sale • Real time Sales Tax Lookup • Commissions Calculations • SIF file import" The term “Works with QuickBooks” needs to be emphasized, perhaps in a callout. The call to action will be something like “Free license of PresentSmart for iPad with every order of DesignSmart. A $300 value. Offer ends 2/14/14. Refer to code BeSmart2014” Somewhere our phone number should appear prominently: Contact us at 800-604-2054
Thanks for submitting and entry. I hope you enjoy the process and I'll try to respond to every entry as quickly as possible.
