lukas.kramer9y got their new podcast by running a design contest:
Cover Design for the new "The Master's Journey" Podcast for People Who Want to Do Well by Doing Good
Check out lukas.kramer9y's Podcast contest…
What it's for: — The episodes on the podcast will mostly be long-form conversations with masters of different fields in life & business (sales, coaching, marketing, writing, speaking, health, etc.) as well as with people committed to getting to that level. — The goal is to extract practices, mindsets and stories that accelerate people‘s progress on the journey to mastery. The focus will be on speaking truthfully about the hardships and challenges that journey brings and on showing real changes listeners can implement right now in their lives. Too many podcasts and other pieces of content today are just focusing on the outcomes, the things these people are doing right now (which 99.99% of people can't relate to) and weird small-talk stories. It‘s about bridging this sense of division and creating a community of masters and those working to become one where each and everyone sees the other person as a peer. — Mastery obviously is the core theme for this entire project and the ambition for every episode is to deliver so much value that this conversation could be part of a high-level mastermind. Who it's for: In our business, we don‘t have the classical demographics but psychographics of shared values and ambitions. This podcast is for people who ... ... have the ambition to become world-class at what they do - to become a master of their field. ... want to achieve extraordinary results while maintaining well-being and great relationships. ... want to be leaders and role models for their families, teams, customers, and communities. ... are in it for more than just the outcomes—excellence, ambition and the desire to serve others are part of their character. ... want to do well by doing good. ... are tired of all the promises of 'hacks', 'secrets' & 'magic pills' ... are usually entrepreneurs, 'intrapreneurs', or have the desire to become either one. ... invest a lot of time in self-education and personal development.
What's your vision?
— As the name "The Master's Journey" suggests, a core theme is that mastery isn't something that happens overnight. It's a long-term commitment. A lifestyle. A long journey with many ups and downs that takes consistency and persistence - kind of like the classical Hero's Journey. It would be cool if the design could represent that in some way. — It‘s obvious but just to make explicit: The podcast title “The Master‘s Journey“ is to be included in the design. — Over the last few months, I've learned that I'm really not too good at color design, so I'm giving you full permission to go to town and design a color template that you feel fits best! Values and words that come to mind that the colors and the design should symbolize are: excellence, integrity, consistency, caring, honesty, service, trust, community, respect, responsibility, servant-leadership — Fonts that I've been using lately: Source Serif Pro, Playfair Display. However, I'm not married to these, so please make changes as you see fit. — I've learned that it's a best practice for a podcast cover to contain a profile picture of the host, so I'd prefer having one of me in the design. I've added a few to the design briefing as uploads. Please feel free to cut out the background. If you see the potential for optimizing the picture through editing, please go ahead. If you have a great idea that requires a different photo from me to make it all fit, just email me and I'll get it to you. —> UPDATE: Please don't put my picture into the center - either to the side or into the background. It's more about the theme and the content than about myself. — Of course, as with all good Podcast covers, a core goal for it is to act as an exciting hook that sparks curiosity in people to want to learn more. — (Don't know if this could help with the design:) The theme song for the podcast will be "Social Network" by Time Reilly & Jeff Dale (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDbPw8mWkWI) — UPDATE: If you could include "Hosted by Lukas Kramer" or "With Lukas Kramer" in a subtle manner, that would awesome!
