I am looking to get a velcro patch designed. In the military, each unit has unique velcro patches to identify ourselves and also share with other units. The patch is essentially akin to a logo. The end design will be velcroed to the shoulder of our uniform. Most patches are approximately average palm-sized.
The idea for the "labor cell" patch is as follows: I want to play off of the Red Faction logo and make it unapologetically American. Instead of an AK-47 gripped in the hand, I would like to see an M4 Carbine. The forearm should be more muscular and veiny, and I would like to see more of the arm pictured to expose a very muscular bicep. Think Arnold in "Predator." I would also like to see a broken shackle on the wrist, as depicted in attachment 2. All colors should be emblematic of the American flag, perhaps even using the American flag as a backdrop. The words "LABOR CELL" and "Добрый вечер" should be prominently included in all caps on the patch - my thought is to use a Cyrillic type of font (with a backward R) to imbue a slight Soviet feel to it (and contrast it with the obvious American influence throughout the patch). As far as positioning the words: I envision the patch to be circular in shape, with a border around it - like in attachment 4 - and I would like to see LABOR CELL wrapped inside the top of the border and the words "Добрый вечер" wrapped inside the bottom of the border on the exact opposite side. Of course, everything I wrote is a general guideline; I highly encourage your creativity and look forward to what you will come up with.
Reasons for attachments:
Attachment #1: The main red faction logo that I want to riff on
Attachment #2: Example of a broken wrist shackle
Attachment #3: Correct spelling of "good night" in Russian
Attachment #4: Example of a circular border on a patch
Attachment #5: Sizing considerations of a shoulder patch
Attachment #6: Font suggestion
Attachment #7: Bicep/Arm proportion
Attachment #8: Amount of the arm/pose I would like shown in the patch; specifically the two soldiers on the left of the photo (black guy and black ninja)
