Paul15102061 got their new other design by running a design contest:
Create the menu design for A16 Rockridge Restaurant
Check out Paul15102061's Other design contest…
A16 Rockridge is a sequel to the award winning A16 San Francisco restaurant. A16 Rockridge focuses on the cuisine of Campania and Puglia and is named after the highway Autostrada 16 that commences in Naples and ends in Canosa di Puglia. Our cuisine is Southern Italian in inspiration but uses the bounty of Northern California farmers and Ranchers. We have an award winning wine list and a full cocktail program. Our audience is sophisticated and urban food and wine enthusiasts between 30-50 years old.
What's your vision?
We want designs for a series of 5 paper menus: dinner, dessert, cocktails, late night dining, and a wine list. Our food and wine offerings change on a daily basis, so updating and printing menus needs to be simple. We can use either MS Word or InDesign to update menus. We will be using a monochrome laser printer to produce the menus. Maximum paper size is legal (8.5x14). The dinner and late night dining menus will be presented without covers. The dessert and cocktail menus will be presented in leather covers using 8.5x 11 paper cut in half (one half for the dessert and wines and the other for after dinner cocktails). The wine list is included in a leather three ring binder using 8.5 x 11. We do not need menus covers for this design project. We want to encourage diners to order items from the Crudo, Spuntino, and Secondi categories to ensure a healthy revenue per customer. So finding an elegant way to highlight those categories would be a nice feature. I have included several MS Word files with rough lists of the food and drink items. These will change over time, but the categories will remain the same, e.g. items under antipasti, pizze, pasta, etc. will change but the headings will not. These are examples of menus we like but we would prefer somewhat simpler menus: http://www.osteriamorini.com/index.php?action=page&id=1880 http://www.balthazarny.com/menus/dinner.pdf (This is a bit baroque but the boxes do help sell higher priced items) http://www.sottorestaurant.com/assets/Dinner.pdf This is probably the favorite layout but we do not like the use of all CAPS in the typography: http://www.lincolnristorante.com/restaurants/131/menus/Lincoln-Ristorante-Dinner-Menu.pdf Speaking of typography we prefer Helvetica given it is a clean and modern font that fits in with our logo. Please read the initial press and this is just the beginning: http://insidescoopsf.sfgate.com/blog/2013/05/23/a16-oakland-nears-fruition-with-positive-side-effects-on-the-san-francisco-original/
We will be opening the restaurant on 5/30 so an early response is important. For clarity we prefer a simple and clean design aesthetic that fits with our logo ( http://www.a16sf.com). Please avoid large dark design elements as they do not print well. For the same reason, please do not use dark or grey backgrounds. Please do not highlight prices by connecting menu items to prices using dots or lines or by using larger font or bold or italics in the price. I have included a logo file: A16_Logo_RGB.png Please include the following footer on the dinner and late-night menus (format as you wish): Executive Chef: Rocky Masselli; Executive Sous Chef: Nicolette Manescalchi; Sous Chef: Mathew Davidson Featuring Mariquita Farms, Star Route Farms, County Line Farms, Heritage Meats, and TwoXSea. 20% gratuity will be added to parties of 8 or more. We charge a corkage fee of $25 per bottle. Consuming raw or undercooked seafood and meats may cause illness.
